I'm back!

Hi all!!

What a busy last few months.  I do apologize for the radio silence on this side of my blog.  This will be a short, but sweet, update on what's been going on in my life since October 2018 (Eek!)

New addition!
- We're expecting a little boy in July.  This is the main reason that I've been MIA from blogging.  I've been both tired and nauseous - my favorite combo of feelings (ha ha ha)
. My body aches and I'm always eating - always. If you see me without food in my hands, then there is a really good chance that I'm on my way for food.

Getting use to having a caffeine intake limit has been an adjustment, to say the least.  Coffee makes my stomach fluttery.  But, I can tolerate tea daily.  And treat myself to a coffee or latte on occasion. I've been told that my favorite mugs are making there way to the back of the cabinet because they aren't being used as much.  Heartbreaking, I know (lol 🤣)

Christmas/New Years Eve
 - Everything went well.  Lots of family, food and rest.  Oh, and I caught the lovely head cold that was making the rounds, which was super fun as I was transition from the first to the second trimester (note: read the last sentence with sarcasm - lol).  We didn't have much snowfall, which means that we were able to get out around and take in everything that we wanted to pack into the holiday season without setbacks.

Goosebumps Book Club (#GBCGhostNextDoor on Twitter)
 - We've been moving forward with the book club on Mandi's YouTube page. At the moment, there are 17 episodes, which includes on bonus episode which she just released as well. We just posted The Return of the Mummy.  Our schedule for the next few months have been released on Twitter, just search using the Twitter handle above. We have an upcoming announcement, so be sure to check out  #GBCGhostNextDoor on Twitter in the next few days.

Podcasts
 - I've been enjoying the following mystery/murder/horror podcasts recently:
* note: language and topics in the above podcasts may not be for sensitive listeners. The 3rd is more of a comedy than the other two.

And that's a wrap on the updates.

Later Days!

Brigus Blueberry Festival

One of the events that I love, that happen in the Summer, is the Blueberry Festival. I've been there many times, growing up with family, and later on with my husband.  This year I ventured out with THREE of my work friends - all of which never been to the Blueberry Festival before!

(Pic stolen from Andy - blog linked below)
These are a great bunch of ladies - they love to get out and see the sights, they are awesome to work with, and they are fantastic lunch buddies!  In fact, Andy (second from far right) already has her blog post up about the festival and you should check it out!  Here is the link to the Blueberry Festival post: Just Being Andie.  I'm tots slow at getting this post up.

It irked me a little that I didn't have any clear pictures of The Brigus Tunnel for my last feature on Brigus - so I fixed that with this trip.  I'm sure that I had pictures but they were lost when my computer crashed and needed to be brought back to factory settings back in February.

Fogo Island

My husband and I love going on road trips - and this post is about the trip we took to Fogo Island.

Fogo Island is located in central Newfoundland, and you have to take a ferry to get there.  Fogo Island has been in the news over the past few years due to the new high-end hotel that has been built - the Fogo Island Inn.  Because of our great friends on the island, we managed to get in for a supper (as we call it, but also referred to dinner) during their tourist season.

For our meal, we were fortunate enough to experience a visiting chef's creations for our multi-course meal.  I can't remember the name of the chef, and couldn't find it online, but I remember that they were visiting from Toronto.

After our meal we were graciously offered a tour of the Inn, including the visiting art exibit.  I have to say, this place is amazing - the rooms, the details around the inn (right down to the room keys), the views, the pedal bike rentals and the evening bonfires on the rocky coast…

Petty Harbour

Last week was super busy, and this week promises to be just as action packed!

We have a bunch of family visiting and a group of the cousins spent some quality time in Petty Harbour.

The town of Petty Harbour is beautiful!  The roads are narrow, the scent of the sea is everywhere, and there are great places to eat.  We certainly love our food here on the island.

We all met at Chafe's Landing for great food, toe-tapping music and much needed catching up. It was a great time!  I was the last to arrive because I was waiting for a shuttle from work to the car dealership, so that I could pick up my SUV from a service appointment.  But, that was ok, I arrived in typical family fashion - late (LOL).

Next stop was Hooked for ice cream.  I went way into the dark side of bad (but delicious!) eating this evening. Ha ha!  Hooked has a menu listing of a variety of ice cream options, one being "Freak Milkshakes" (I think that's the term) - and it does not disappoint!  I have a Pean…
